What's New in the YIWU+
The YIWU+ preserves the beloved YIWU frame and aesthetics while introducing improved components and refined details that truly matter – especially if you ride frequently, tackle varied terrain, or want a bike with extended longevity.
Here's what we've upgraded:
- European assembly – all YIWU+ bikes are assembled in Portugal for both EU and Swiss markets, shortening transport distances
- Shimano gear shifter (SL-R400) – smoother gear changes in urban traffic
- Shimano cassette (CS-HG50-8 11–32T) – wider gear range, optimized for hills
- LASCO crankset (42T) – better climbing ability without sacrificing speed
- Broader tires (25c instead of 23c) – improved comfort and grip on rough surfaces
- Minimalist grips – faux leather grips perfectly matching the saddle, replacing cork for better durability
- Enhanced braking system – more responsive brakes and levers

YIWU+ or YIWU | Which Is Right for You?
Since both bikes share the same minimalist philosophy, timeless geometry, and everyday practicality, your choice primarily depends on your riding habits:
- Choose the YIWU if you mainly ride on smooth city streets and want a stylish, reliable, and affordable bike for daily commuting.
- Choose the YIWU+ if you cycle frequently, face steeper hills or rougher surfaces (cobblestones, gravel, dirt roads), and want upgraded components for better performance and durability.
Often, your choice will also depend on the availability of your preferred size and color. We produce in small batches to maintain high quality and overproduction. As a consequence, models can sell out quickly. If you’re interested in purchasing an YIWU or YIWU+, it’s best to check availability here for your country. In general however, we’re producing the YIWU+ in Petrol Grey and Chrome, while the YIWU is available in Chrome, Bordeaux, Night Blue and Rosé Pearl Matt.
